Cable, Phone & Internet Service Bundling
So...It's week two of my journey to reduce spending and cut costs inside of my home. In week one, you might recall, I deployed the use of coupons. I am happy to report that in my first week of using coupons, I managed to shave $30 off of my grocery bill. I will be continuing to use couponing as a cost savings method in my home. If I continue to average $30 per month, then I should save at least $360 over a 12 month period.
This week, I have decided to bundle my internet, phone, and cable services. For the last two years, I have toyed with bundling these services ever since I switched cellular providers. Initially, I chose not to bundle my services because I had some concern that I might decide to change cell phone providers again at a later date and did not want to go through the headache of unbundling. In addition, I had a pretty good installation package that was very attractive as it stood.
Fast forward two years... in my journey to cut costs, I have determined that is now time to assess where I might be able to bundle my services. So, I contacted my provider to further define what the actual savings would be if I bundled my services.
Initially, I attempted to do this online but it led to me being diverted back and forth between sites to make the purchase. So, in an effort to prevent too much damage to either account I decided to contact my provider.
After more than 20 minutes on hold, I was able to speak with a represenative. Based on my decision to combine bills, I should save at least $40-$50 per month. I did not decrease my cable services nor did I change my home phone plan or internet services.
It was not my goal to terminate my cable services or home phone services, but I wanted to save a few bucks. It appears that over a 12 month period, I would save $480 to $600.
